Green Frogs: age 24 - 36 months
The Green Frogs room provides well-supervised play to help toddlers develop self-control, cooperation, and communication through positive interaction with their peers. Toddlers have many opportunities to learn and play and assert their newly acquired independence of being two-year olds. Staff ratio in this classroom is one teacher to every six children. Meals are served at tables, with family style serving introduced throughout the year. Naps are taken on cots every afternoon. Large motor time outside is scheduled daily, as weather allows, but also in our indoor gym. Toilet training is an integral part of our two-year old program. Green Frogs staff and parents work cooperatively to provide each toddler consistency and support at the center and at home. Parents provide extra clothes for their toddler to leave at the center to allow children to change themselves independently when possible. Children move to the Blue Horses room with their classmates based on class entry into Kindergarten.
